Along with games, I also enjoy creating videos and animations. These videos feature live production, photography, 2D animation, and 3D animation.
“At Five”
This video was created as my undergraduate Digital Arts and Sciences final project. It features 2D animations of symbols, shapes, text. The trailer was created for my game At Five. The images and shapes were created in both Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe After Affects. The art assets were animated in Adobe After Affects. The audio was created using creative commons assets edited in Audacity. The animations and audio were pieced together using Adobe Premiere Pro.
“Nana’s Pie”
This video was created as a group project for my Design and Production II class at the University of Florida. In it, I was used as a silent actor. I also helped put together a storyboard and create cuts for the video using Adobe After Affects and Adobe Premiere Pro.
“Frog Box”
This video tells a story through camera work. I filmed this video using a DSLR and put together the footage and music using Audacity, Adobe After Affects, and Adobe Premiere Pro.
“Save the Sock Monkeys”
This video tells a story through lighting techniques and camera work. I took still shots for this video using a DSLR and put together the footage and music using Audacity, Adobe After Affects, and Adobe Premiere Pro. Throughout this project, I used 3 point lighting (a keylight, fill light, and backlight). During 00:13 to 00:38, the key light was to the side of the subject, to cast harsh shadows, and the fill and back light were very diffused (but also not very bright). For 1:04 to 1:46, I moved the keylight about 45 degrees from the camera (less to the side of the subject), in order to get more even light, and I increased the intensity of the fill light.
“Agent Zero”
This video was a final project for my 3D Digital Animation class class at the University of Florida. It is a short 3D animation using Maya with a free-to-use character rig from Animation Mentor. For this project, I: created key poses for animation; checked timing in real time; used the Maya graph editor to tweak spacing; used a three point lighting setup; and rendered out the image sequences for post production in After Effects.
“The Climb”
This video was a final project for my 2D Digital Animation class class at the University of Florida. All sections of the video are animated (not just blocked out timing as would be expected in an animatic) and have complete sound added (FX, music) to them using Adobe After Affects. The animations in this video feature a rigged character and background effects. I created the backgrounds for this video using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop I put together the animations and title cards using Adobe Premiere Pro.
